Grata Search allows you tag companies. Tags are critical to gaining a deep understanding of private companies. Tags automate your research and help you build a database. We include a library of standard tags and also offer you the ability to create your own custom tags.

While you're using filters, you may realize that you'd like to save the result as a tag.

You can create a tag in 2 locations:

  1. Within the filters of a List (or Market). You can't make a tag in a sector (Software Sector).

  2. Within the Tags section, which you can find under the More dropdown in the navigation bar.

Creating tags from the filters: To create a tag within the search section, select the 'Tags' tab at the top of the filter panel. Once you've named your tag and created a description, test your keywords. Be sure to look at the Tiles to ensure your tag returns the results you expect.

Once you're done, select the save icon next to the tag name. To cancel at any time, click the x icon.

While creating tags, you should consider when to apply advanced functionality. Often times, you will want your tags to include any hits on a website. To do this, go to your term group. You have the option for "Core" or "Mention". Click "Mention", this will expand your search to not just look at the core pages of a companies site (default setting), but anywhere the website mentions the keyword. Your keyword box will expand.

Creating tags in the tag menu: Another place to create tags is in the MoreTags section. Select the + icon at the top right of your screen to create a new tag.

After choosing to Create a Tag, you will be prompted to input the following information about your tag: name, description, visibility (either just for you or to your full organization), and group name (add a tag to a group of similar themed tags).

To test your keywords on a list, click "Edit in search page" above the name.
